Green Bay, WI—During the UW-Green Bay fall Council of Trustees reception and dinner last week, Johanna Wicklund, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay and Lakes Region was presented with the Community Service Award in recognition of her substantial contributions to communities in Northeast Wisconsin.
The Community Service Award is given to recognize community members who have made significant contributions and have done exceptional community work. The award honors those who have demonstrated outstanding service that has positively impacted the region.
During her remarks, Wicklund expressed her gratitude to the community and the university for the Community Service Award. “At the Boys and Girls Club, I witness countless young people who discover their strengths and step boldly into their future,” Wicklund said. “Club kids are resilient, creative, compassionate, our future leaders and our present-day problem-solvers. America needs club kids. This community remains committed to ensure young people have the opportunity to be great.”
Johanna Wicklund is a dedicated nonprofit leader with over two decades of experience in youth development. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region, leading the strategic direction of 10 Boys & Girls Club locations spanning across Door County, Greater Green Bay and Shawano County.
