Together We Rise! Make Your Mark on UW-Green Bay’s Day of Giving

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 25, 2024

For one day only, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 you can leave your #PhoenixFootprint

Green Bay, WI – Everyone has the Power to Rise. And on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, alumni, faculty, staff and community leaders have the power to transform the region through UW-Green Bay’s Day of Giving. For 24 hours, donors can directly impact the more than 10,000 current students and thousands of future Phoenix by leaving their #PhoenixFootprint.

As an added bonus, thanks to a generous matching gift from Larry and Kathy Treankler, all Giving Day donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $200,000. That means all donations double the impact and help students rise twice as high. Whether it’s $1 or $10,000 – everything counts!

Since its beginning, UW-Green Bay has taken bold and innovative steps to impact the lives of its students. The UW-Green Bay Day of Giving is no exception – and all gifts have the ability to transform the lives of students and the communities in which they live and work.

Maybe it’s the creativity of The Weidner’s slate of performances; maybe it’s the forward-thinking programs within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences or the Cofrin School of Business; maybe it’s the grit and determination of the Green Bay Phoenix Athletics teams this year. Whatever it is – whatever brilliance is making an impact – now is the time to support UW-Green Bay with a gift.

UW-Green Bay learners have been making their mark for the past 59 years.

With 50,000+ graduates who have become nurses, teachers, engineers, business leaders, artists and more, Phoenix make an impression wherever they go. That impact is felt especially by communities in UW-Green Bay’s 16-county footprint, where 74% of graduates live and work after completing their degree.

Take alumni siblings Amanda and Marcus Reitz. Through their work with Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary, which Amanda founded in 2006 while still a UW-Green Bay student, they have taken their innovative approach to providing a forever home to abandoned dogs and cats in Northeast Wisconsin, and turned it into one of the most successful and well-known pet sanctuaries in the region. Their passion and creativity are making a difference (for humans and their furry friends!) in the Green Bay community and beyond.

Celebrate and support students on April 3, 2024 by visiting www.uwgb.edu/giving-day/With focus areas in each college, The Weidner, Phoenix Athletics, the Fund for Excellence and Need-Based Scholarships, donors can choose which area to impact with a gift.
