UW-System President Tommy Thompson to be honored at UW-Green Bay, Tuesday, March 15
Green Bay, Wis.—University of Wisconsin (UW) System President Tommy Thompson will make his final stop at UW-Green Bay’s Green Bay Campus on Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 2022. The University will honor his advocacy in a program from 3 to 4 p.m.

“President Thompson has been an amazing advocate for higher education during his time with UW System,” says UW-Green Bay Chancellor Michael Alexander. “His belief and energy behind the importance of the expanded Wisconsin Idea drives us forward. We are grateful for all he us done to support us at UW-Green Bay.”
Upon his arrival, Thompson will be visiting UW-Green Bay’s new Esports Lab—an area in the Phoenix Club of the University Union for competitive and organized video gaming. At UW-Green Bay, the Esports program allows students to participate in both competitive and casual game play with peers and gamers online.
The tour will be followed first by a casual meeting with faculty, staff and students at the Common Grounds Coffee House in the University Union, before a formal program in the 1965 Room of the Union to honor President Thompson for his exceptional advocacy to the University during his tenure as UW System president.
