Former Green Bay women’s basketball head coach added to Top 50 Influential Leaders List
Carol Hammerle, the Green Bay women’s basketball head coach for 25 seasons, from 1974-1999, was recently added to the “Top 50 Most Influential Leaders in Green Bay Athletics History” list. Hammerle was the program’s first head coach beginning in 1974, winning 456 games during her 25 seasons, earning her a spot in the Green Bay Phoenix Hall of Fame. In addition, Hammerle led the program to its first NCAA Tournament appearance during the 1993-94 season. Hammerle coached the program to 12, 20-win seasons and is credited with starting the strong ties of community support through her efforts to build relationships and connections in the Green Bay area.
Green Bay Athletics is releasing new members of the “Top 50 Most Influential Leaders in Green Bay Athletics History” list throughout the academic year in honor of the 2019-2020 season marking 50 years of Green Bay Athletics.
