Sustainability Mindset – Advanced Nonprofit Training
On October 27, the Nonprofit Education & Development Network will present an interactive, full-day training at the Tundra Lodge Resort and Conference Center in Green Bay. The session, “The Sustainability Mindset: Strengthening Your Business Model and Revenue Strategy,” will challenge nonprofit leaders to develop strategies and utilize tools to better anticipate and respond to a changing economic environment and the needs of the communities they serve.
If there is anything the pandemic showed – it is that the world changes quickly. For nonprofits to remain sustainable they must be able to quickly respond to the changing economic environment and the needs of the communities they serve. To do so, they need a deep understanding of how their programs work together to create impact and financial viability.
This training will introduce participants to the matrix map, an engaging tool that provides a visual depiction of an organization’s business model that shows how each activity contributes to the organization’s mission impact and financial viability. Beyond just a picture though, the matrix map offers strategic inquiries for board and staff to frame choices and make the necessary and at times difficult adjustments to their business model in the pursuit of sustainable impact. We’ll also discuss the elements behind the “right revenue” for an organization, allowing leadership to think strategically about which revenue streams align with an organization’s values and programs.
