Green Bay women’s basketball team repeats with nation’s top GPA

The Green Bay women’s basketball program is once again the top team in the nation based on GPA. The Women’s Basketball Coach Association’s nationwide academic honor roll lists Green Bay at the top with an incredible 3.753 overall team GPA. WYO4 News covered the story and a full release is posted at GreenBayPhoenix.com. Head Coach Kevin Borseth thanked “a tremendous group of faculty” and “first-class educational experience” the student-athletes get at UW-Green Bay.

“We are extremely proud of the work our student-athletes put in on the court this past season, but equally important, the work they put in the classroom to receive this exceptional milestone of academic national champions for the second year in a row and the fourth time overall in the history of this prestigious award,” Head Coach Kevin Borseth said. “I want to especially thank the tremendous group of faculty we have at Green Bay who go above and beyond to ensure all of our athletes are getting a first-class educational experience. Becoming a national champion academically takes a village of people who care deeply for our athletes and also a group of athletes who are motivated to be the very best they can be both on the court and in the classroom. At Green Bay we are fortunate to have both.”

It is the program’s fourth-straight appearance on the honor roll and 14th overall, repeating as national champions of the classroom with a 3.753 team grade-point average for the 2017-18 season.
