Phoenix fans travel to support Wojta
Former Phoenix hoops standout Julie Wojta doubled up on home court advantage Tuesday as the WNBA rookie played in Minneapolis for her new team, the Minnesota Lynx. Not only was the noon game at home, Wojta had plenty of support from Green Bay, too — members of the Phoenix faithful boarded a Minneapolis-bound bus to watch her in action. WBAY, Action 2 News’ Bao Vang reported live from the Kress Events Center early in the morning, capturing the excitement as the bus prepared to depart. See story here.
Phoenix Athletics had a nice photo slideshow, recapping the entire trip.
Wojta had 4 points and 2 rebounds in about a dozen minutes of play as the Lynx defeated Chicago, 82-61. See the box score.
