Green Bay women advance to championship against Detroit

Junior Jessica Lindstrom had 15 points and 12 rebounds as top-seeded Green Bay defeated No. 5 UW-Milwaukee, 66-59, to advance to the championship game of the 2017 Horizon League tournament today (Tuesday) at 11:00 a.m. The Phoenix plays Detroit Mercy for the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Green Bay (26-5) heads to the Horizon League title game for the seventh straight year, having advanced to the NCAA tournament in five of the last six seasons. Sophomore Jen Wellnitz equaled her career-high with 15 points and added seven rebounds, six assists and a number of key steals in the Green Bay semifinal victory. The game is televised on ESPN3.
