Nursing Program earns solid reviews on site visit
Congratulations are in order for program chair Prof. Susan Gallagher-Lepak, Dean Sue Mattison, and the entire faculty and staff of the Professional Program in Nursing. Earlier this week, UW-Green Bay hosted a three-day site visit by reviewers for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. They looked at four broad areas and 28 separate standards in assessing the candidacies of the undergraduate program for re-accreditation and the new master’s program for initial accreditation. According to their preliminary, verbal report presented to Nursing and campus officials on Wednesday, the UW-Green Bay programs met all standards. The CCNE visitors reviewed documents and met with nursing students, faculty, community members, and various departments around campus. Their report will be forwarded to the CCNE’s Accreditation Review Committee and subsequently to their Board of Commissioners after which a final decision will be made on accreditation status. In a written thank-you, the Nursing program “wishes to thank all involved in the accreditation site visit this week including Dean Sue Mattison and staff in the Dean of Professional Studies Office, BSN and MSN students, numerous faculty and staff, departments that work closely with nursing such as Academic Technology Services, Library, Registrar and Financial Aid, nursing alumni, and so many others.”
