Social Work student promotes drive for local Homeless
Lewis Drumheller, a junior in UW-Green Bay’s Social Work program, dropped in the Log News office on Wednesday afternoon with an altruistic motive — to spread word about a “Help for the Homeless” drive. As a part of his junior service learning project, Drumheller is helping the Brown County Homeless and Housing Coalition to collect donations for their drive to benefit 11 local homeless programs.
Drumheller explained there are drop boxes at a number of locations across town like Festival Foods. The BCHHC website asks for donations of new cleaning or hygiene products, and lists collection sites with over 150 collection boxes and jars can be found in Brown County until March 13.
A couple of area restaurants will also hold “donation nights” to benefit this non-profit cause.
