Swimmers pursue amazing eighth

The Green Bay women, who are looking for their eighth consecutive conference title, were in third place through the halfway point of this year’s Horizon League swimming and diving tournament, being contested through Saturday in suburban Milwaukee. The Phoenix men were in fifth place.  Among the highlights for Coach Jim Merner and his teams: Kendra Rottier of Green Bay continued her dominance, winning the 500-yard freestyle with a school-record time of 4:52.88. The win came one night after she shattered the school record with a first-place time of 10:03:79 in the 1000 free. Amber Bartholomew set another record in the 200 medley, touching out at 2:01:28.
