MARINETTE—UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus’ Office of Continuing Education is hosting the fourth annual Christmas concert, Christmas By the Bay. However, with the restrictions brought about in response to COVID-19, performing live at the Herb Williams Theatre isn’t an option this year, so the concert has gone online.Director Brittany Welch said some ideas of what to do in the midst of the pandemic were discussed in the fall. “We talked about maybe doing a virtual kids’ musical or kids’ play instead of the normal children’s play, and finally we decided that probably the easiest thing to do would be to do an online Christmas concert. There have been so many online Zoom concerts, and the dance studio (First Street Academy of Dance) did their recital virtually this year, so we took the idea from that,” she said.
