Phuture Phoenix collaborates with local school for ‘Extreme College Makeover’
With help from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Phuture Phoenix Program and the Sunrise Optimist Club, every classroom doorway at Jefferson Elementary School, Green Bay, is being painted to correspond with a particular college or university’s school colors.
Throughout the school year, each classroom teacher will use their “Extreme College Makeover” to help students think about what educational options they have after high school. For more than a decade the Phuture Phoenix Program has been helping to inspire fifth-graders to aspire to college through a visit day at UW-Green Bay and follow-up programming and mentoring in the schools.
