Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan is expanding with more gardens, trails
SHEBOYGAN – Bookworm Gardens will add 23.5 additional acres to its current 7.5-acre campus under a new lease with Sheboygan County. The nonprofit botanical garden made the announcement in a news release Wednesday. It said the additional acreage will be to the north/northwest of the current site along the Sheboygan River. “The success on our existing site, since opening in 2010, has been remarkable,” Bookworm Gardens Executive Director Elizabeth Wieland said in the news release. “But space and capacity has been one of our persistent challenges. When the opportunity to grow our physical space presented itself, we knew it was the right step to advance our mission and continue our work in the community.”
