In the news: A top-tier ranking and a jump of several spots
There was good news greeting readers on the front page of today’s (Wednesday, Sept. 12) Green Bay Press-Gazette. UW-Green Bay once again is listed in the top tier of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Universities — Midwest category, jumping 12 spots from 78 last year to 66 this time around. Chancellor Tom Harden put the designation in context, saying the University doesn’t read too much into any one ranking — but that our inclusion in the top tier is indicative of the great things going on at UW-Green Bay. We couldn’t agree more — we’ve got the No. 1 library (the Cofrin), the top high school teacher in the state (alum and ILP instructor JoAnn Miller) and a DI athletics team (women’s b-ball) ranked first in academics. Good stuff all around — and we’re barely a week into the school year. Full story.
