Our hometown Green Bay Press-Gazette newspaper on Thursday (Sept. 8) carried a lengthy, balanced story on the rehired annuitants issue. Reporter Patti Zarling interviewed Chancellor Harden and UW System spokesman David Giroux, outlining some of the questions being asked about rehiring annuitants and the case of Tom Maki. “I understand people don’t like it,” Harden said. “But I had to do what I felt was best for the University. The notion that I could have easily and quickly replaced him and his years of experience just isn’t true.” Read the full story.
