In the news: Scholar Institute program featured on WBAY, WPR

A new UW-Green Bay summer program is getting some media attention this week, as The Phoenix Scholar Institute for African American Girls continues through Friday on campus. As we told you last week, this residential summer experience for African American middle schoolers combines academic studies with the teaching of African American cultural principles, values and history. It prepares these young learners to aspire to and attend college, and to be successful in school as they prepare for their careers. WBAY, Channel 2, and Wisconsin Public Radio interviewed our own Juliet Cole, associate director of the Institute for Learning Partnership, along with eager students learning what college life is all about. See the WBAY story; we’ll link to the WPR piece as soon as it’s posted.
