Season 100 for GBSO, and the return of Warren Gerds
A familiar name in a new role is previewing the 100th season of the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra, headquartered at the Weidner Center. Longtime Green Bay Press-Gazette critic-at-large Warren Gerds is now in a similar role at WFRV, Channel 5, and he covered the GBSO’s new season in a recent report. In it, Gerds makes note of the GBSO’s connection to UW-Green Bay and founding Chancellor Edward Weidner, and talks about the orchestra’s milestone anniversary. As you may recall, the GBSO moved its administrative offices to the Weidner Center last summer, a logical logistical move that also represented a key step in the Weidner’s revitalization plan (one element of which calls for closer collaboration with community and other arts groups).
