Sheboygan Grad is Featured Speaker at UWGB Commencement on Saturday | WHBL

A student at the UW Green Bay Sheboygan Campus has been chosen as a featured speaker for Saturday morning commencement ceremonies to be held in Green Bay.Monica Garcia is a first-generation college student attending at the Sheboygan Campus who will graduate with a double major in Democracy and Justice Studies and Psychology, along with minors in Social Justice and Political Science.  Calling the Sheboygan Campus a perfect opportunity to “try on her wings”, she became involved with student government, discovered her calling and, as she relates, “It all just took off from there.”

Garcia will be the featured speaker during 9:30 a.m. ceremonies for graduates of the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, as well as all associate degrees from all four campuses including the Rising Phoenix program.

Afternoon ceremonies at 2 p.m. will see the graduation of the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business students, and those in the College of Health, Education & Social Welfare and the College of Science, Engineering & Technology.

Held at the Kress Events Center on the Green Bay campus, 1,338 graduates in all will receive their degrees, the largest graduating class to date for the university.
