Weidner meets Whitesnake: Press-Gazette preview touts ‘Rock of Ages’
The Green Bay Press-Gazette’s Kendra Meinert tells readers it’ll be nothin’ but a good time Thursday, Feb. 13 when the ‘80s musical “Rock of Ages” takes the Weidner Center stage. In a fun and lively preview in Thursday’s (Feb. 6) “Weekend” section, Meinert talks head banging, hair bands and one rockin’ soundtrack with the associate director of the touring production headed here next week. “It’s so hard in the musical theater world to know what people are going to be attracted to,” the show’s Adam John Hunter tells Meinert. “I knew that it was good. I knew that it was funny. It’s hard to tell what people are going to click into. It’s been a wonderful surprise, but not a surprise because of the show, but just because it’s really rare to have a show last as long as this one has on Broadway and on the road.” At least one member of your Log news team is counting down the days to the big show, searching in vain for an 80s-style hair crimper and totally getting ready to rock. You can, too (crimped hair optional) — tickets are still available.
