Psychology alumna Schemenauer and Prof. Chu publish an article in Family Relations to promote supportive sport parenting

Savannah Schemenauer ’21 (Psychology) and Associate Prof. Alan Chu (Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology) published an article titled “Lessons from the Field. Development of a group intervention to promote need-supportive sport parenting” in the Family Relations journal based on Savannah and Prof. Chu’s scientific knowledge as well as coaching and consulting experiences, the article provides parent educators with a theoretically and empirically informed intervention to work with sport parents on enhancing their children’s motivation and reducing their burnout in sport.
