In the news: Levintova on threats to Sochi Olympics
NBC 26 reporter (and UW-Green Bay alumna) Raquel Lamal on Thursday (Jan. 23) turned to Associate Prof. Katia Levintova for some context on the security threats surrounding the Sochi Olympics. Levintova, Public and Environmental Affairs, said Olympic security will be tight — though the biggest terror threat could be elsewhere in Russia, especially in light of recent attacks. The North Caucasus, which is very close to Sochi, has been the site of almost daily violence against the state, Levintova said. Full story.
