The Fall 2012 Employee Convocation kicks off the academic year at 10 a.m. today (Aug. 28) in the University Union’s Phoenix Room. The program is as follows:
• Welcome, by Emcee Cliff Abbott
• Introduction of new faculty and staff
• Introduction of named professorship recipients
• Founders Association Awards of Excellence
• Remarks by Chancellor Thomas K. Harden
• Lunch in Leona Cloud Commons
A chance to applaud Davis, Aldrete, Howe
UW-Green Bay has eight named professorships. Among the highlights of this morning’s Faculty/Staff Convocation will be the presentation of medallions emblematic of three of those professorships to the newest recipients of five-year terms:
• Prof. Greg Davis of Natural and Applied Sciences will receive the Barbara Hauxhurst Cofrin Professorship of Natural Sciences
• Receiving the Frankenthal Family Professorship will be Prof. Greg Aldrete of Humanistic Studies
• Prof. Bob Howe of Natural and Applied Sciences will be presented the Herbert Fisk Johnson Professorship in Environmental Studies
