Still accepting RSVPs for ‘UWGB Convocation Open’

Our faculty and staff colleagues organizing the Shorewood golf outing for next Wednesday, Aug. 29, say they had a nice batch of early signups, but they could still use a few more. The format for the “Convocation Open” is a three-person scramble, so golfers of all abilities are encouraged to participate and meet others from UW-Green Bay in a less formal setting. Kelly Franz, John Katers and Joe Schoenebeck are the organizers. Please contact Joe by noon this Friday if you’d like to reserve a spot for the very reasonable $10 greens fee. Non-golfers are welcome to stop by the Shorewood clubhouse for refreshments and casual conversation later in the afternoon. For details, see our previous post.

P.S…. Shorewood Amateur rescheduled —
We won’t confuse things by listing all the dates and details here, but there’s a second golf tournament going on this month. The annual Shorewood Amateur was rained out in late July and has been rescheduled. If you’re interested in that campus/community tourney (and a slightly more serious and competitive outing, but still fun) call the course at ext. 2118.
