STEM Fest to be hosted by UW-Green Bay Manitowoc Campus and The Chamber of Manitowoc County
The Chamber of Manitowoc County along with UW – Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus will be hosting STEM FEST on October 15, 2024 the UW – Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus for 4th and/or 5th grade students from schools across Manitowoc County.
For Schools:
This is a great opportunity for students to experience the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math happening in businesses right here in Manitowoc County. It will also help kids to see how what they learn in school is used in their own community.
Participating businesses will have STEM-related demos or hands-on activities for students to interact with during one of the three 45 minute sessions starting at 9am, 10:45am and 12:30pm. There will also be games and activities from the Einstein Project and Millipore Sigma’s Curiosity Cube.
If your school would like to sign up for one of the three sessions, please let us know which one, and how many students will be attending. We also have funding to help offset the cost of busing students to the event. We can arrange to have a bus for your students, or you may coordinate through your own district’s busing, and be reimbursed. Please contact Melissa Radandt if you are interested in bringing your students to this event at melissa@chambermanitowoccounty.org.
For Businesses:
This is a great opportunity to highlight the wonderful things you are doing by sharing the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math that are essential to the work being done right here in Manitowoc County. It will also help kids to see how what they learn in school is used in their own community – and a great way to connect with your future workforce.
Chamber member businesses are invited to participate by setting up a table (booth) with STEM-related demos or hands-on activities for students. This gives you an opportunity to highlight STEM content related to your industry and/or STEM careers in your organization.
If your team is interested but not sure where to go with your activity, we have teams from the Einstein Project and Millipore Sigma’s Curiosity Cube willing to help plan activities.
Additionally, if your business or organization is interested in helping to support this valuable and exciting workforce event, we have sponsorship opportunities available. Your generous investment will help cover the cost of bussing students from across Manitowoc County to the event. Sponsorships are available on a first-come first-served basis.
*Registration is required to volunteer and display your activity/experiment at a table (1 table provided per registration). If you need additional accommodations please contact melissa@chambermanitowoccounty.org
