UW-Green Bay faculty/Wyndesong Consort plan Shakespeare birthday bash
In celebration of William Shakespeare’s birthday, the assembled company and musicians of Wyndesong Consort will present an evening of readings and music from the time of Elizabeth I at 7 p.m. next Wednesday, April 28, at the Brown County Central Library, 515 Pine St., downtown Green Bay. This program is free and open to the public. Readings include Shakespeare’s Sonnets 29 and 30 and selections from The Tempest and Twelfth Night. Musical pieces include those composed by Clement Woodcock (c.1575); John Dowland (1563-1626); Robert Johnson (1583-1634); Thomas Morley (1557-1602) and others. The musicians of Wyndesong Consort include Prof. Catherine Henze of Humanistic Studies; Kathy Takahashi, a grad student in Social Work; and Prof. Emerita Lynn Walter, along with Pat Viets, Kathie Ryerson, and Kit Woessner, and a guest soloist, Taka Takahashi.
