New Lawton Gallery art exhibit documents hate crime sites
The Lawton Gallery will feature a new exhibit with photographs by Paul Baker Prindle opening this Thursday (March 3) and running through March 31. The exhibit, “Mementi Mori,” includes 14 large-scale works by Prindle that are part of a continuing series. “Photographs from this series were made over the past three years as I visited sites across the United States where gay men and trans individuals had been murdered in what were later identified as hate crimes,” Prindle said. The opening reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday with a talk by the curator at 5 p.m. For more information, contact curator Stephen Perkins, (920) 465-2916.
