Call for participants: Workshop on ‘stereotype threat’
“Stereotype Threat: Sound Interventions” is the name of a one-day workshop Thursday, May 21, sponsored by UW System OPID and hosted by UW-La Crosse. Stereotype threat is the name researchers have given to the effect that the existence of negative stereotypes about a group can have on the performance of individual members of that group. This one-day workshop aims to help non-experts design a stereotype-threat intervention with the assistance of an expert, UW-River Falls professor of psychology Cyndi Kernahan. Mileage to UW-L, lunch and one night accommodation will be covered by an OPID grant for the project. More information.
