First place! Both basketball teams pick up notable wins

The men (23-5, 13-2) came back from a 15-point deficit to win on the road in Michigan, beating Oakland 71-63. And the Phoenix women’s team (17-8, 10-3) gutted out a thrilling 79-72 OT win at Wright State to reclaim the inside track on the Horizon League title and homecourt advantage in the tournament. The story of the game was a career night by senior guard Sam Zastrow, a little-used reserve for much of her Phoenix career but the star last night with 12 points and six assists in 29 minutes.
