UW-Green Bay climbs to No. 18 in AP Top 25

They’re up three spots in this week’s AP Top 25 voting, those UW-Green Bay women, at No. 18. Coach Matt Bollant’s team has earned national rankings so often the past two seasons it’s easy to overlook the magnitude of the achievement. But consider this: Scan the list of college basketball royalty ahead of the Phoenix on that list — from No. 1 Baylor through UConn, Stanford, Tennesee, Duke, Texas A&M, Xavier, Notre Dame, UCLA, DePaul, Michigan State, Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Georgetown and No. 17 West Virginia — and consider how many do it on a shoestring budget with a largely local recruiting base… and it’s pretty darn impressive.
