Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in First Nations Education gets HLC Approval

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) approved of UW-Green Bay offering the Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in First Nations Education at its meeting on June 12, 2017. This approval, following a site visit April 10-11, 2017, is one of the final steps needed before the new program can be marketed to students. The Ed.D. in First Nations Education, slated to begin in fall 2018, will be the first doctoral program offered at UW-Green Bay.

It is a four-year program and culminates in a dissertation project. The program is designed for working professionals with present or emerging leadership responsibilities in a variety of educational settings which may include PK-16, public, private, tribal, and parochial schools, two year colleges, tribal colleges, technical colleges, health care institutions, community organizations, social services, government agencies, consulting organizations and international agencies. The Ed.D. in First Nations Education will meet the needs of multiple groups including First Nations and non-First Nations communities.
