UW-Green Bay Alumni Go the Distance at the Green Bay Cellcom Marathon

The weather was perfect, the near 10,000 runners were appreciative and more than 25 UW-Green Bay alumni volunteers had a blast at the Green Bay Cellcom Marathon, Sunday, May 17. Director of Alumni Relations Mark Brunette was right, the elite runners didn’t need our help as they cruised past the water station on a 5:20 pace. Thirty minutes later, the alumni crew could barely keep up with the high fives, the “way to goes” and the water, of course. By the end of the race, the walkers were stopping for photos and thanking the alumni for their service. Next year, racers are encouraged to wear UW-Green Bay gear for special cheers from the volunteers.
