Franchising gets a boost in Green Bay with new resource center; SBDC plays a part

The 50-year-old International Franchise Association has announced it will open its first satellite, a Franchise Resource Center, in Green Bay. The decision follows contacts made by Mayor Jim Schmitt at the national mayors conference and the success of an IFA “Opportunities in Franchising” workshop held here last July. The Franchise Resource Center will open Friday (Feb. 7) and will be located in the Advance Business & Manufacturing Center which is in the same building as the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center at UW-Green Bay, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College’s Entrepreneur Resource Center, SCORE and Advance, a program of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. The drop-in center will allow individuals interested in becoming business owners the ability to pick up useful educational material to begin their journey.
