Faculty note: Yunsun Huh presentation

Assistant Prof. Yunsun Huh of Democracy and Justice Studies made a research presentation titled “Effect of Study Skill Week Intervention on Students’ Success” at the Wisconsin Economic Association Conference at Stevens Point on Nov. 8. Huh described her efforts to improve student achievement in her Introductory Microeconomics course. She observed that many students seemed to struggle with the basic math requirements of the subject before she designed a one-week “study skills” program at the beginning of the semester. Survey results showed students’ confidence in their math skills increased as did their self-awareness of the importance of math and good study skills. Test scores also improved.
