Phoenix women outlast Loyola for automatic NCAA berth

After winning its third-straight Horizon League Championship on Sunday afternoon with its 24th-straight victory, UW-Green Bay (29-2) has secured a bid to its fifth consecutive and 14th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Phoenix, ranked No. 20 in the nation, defeated third-seeded Loyola 54-38 on Sunday to win the program’s 13th conference tournament title overall and 12th as a member of the Horizon League. Borseth, Phoenix plan get-together for Selection Show
UW-Green Bay Athletics will host a special Selection Show event on Monday (March 18) at 6 p.m. with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m. at the Kress Center as the team awaits its seed, opponent and destination for the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Coach Kevin Borseth and players will be both hosts and honored guests. For those of you not attending the Kress event, the pairings are announced in an hour-long show cablecast by ESPN.

Possible destinations for Phoenix
The NCAA women’s tournament begins play in a week, with half of the 32 opening-round games on Saturday (March 23) and the others the following day, Sunday (March 24). UW-Green Bay could be sent to any of the following sites:
