Employees reminded to use own judgment on reporting to work
University of Wisconsin-Green Bay officials monitoring the major winter storm today (Thursday, Dec. 20) report that as of 6 a.m. campus roads and major arterials were mostly clear and city bus service is up and running. Employees, as always, should use their own judgment about whether they can safely travel to campus or whether they should leave early. (The state of Wisconsin requires employees to use vacation, personal holiday or unpaid time for hours lost to inclement weather.) With forecasters continuing to predict that snow and high winds will increase throughout the day, University officials say they will evaluate conditions as the morning progresses. For those employees who do report, an early closing announcement is a possibility as local driving conditions deteriorate. With final exams week already concluded and no major public events scheduled for the day, this update mainly affects University employees. Faculty and staff are directed to contact their immediate supervisors if they have questions about the winter storm and its impact on their operations.
