Thursday seminar to help attendees protect against fraud, scams
The UW Credit Union’s Wayne Resch and Better Business Bureau’s JoEllen Wollangk will present a fraud and scams awareness and prevention seminar from 6-7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 29) in the Union’s Christie Theatre. During the seminar, the pair will discuss many of the common forms of fraud and scams, helping attendees understand financial and identity risks and how to protect themselves from becoming a victim. Fraud scams have become much more advanced in recent years, particularly with the ever-expanding world of electronic media. Identity theft also is on the rise. The event is free and open to the public.
