CollegeReady celebrates NEW Scholars graduates – The Press

GREEN BAY – On Wednesday, May 22, families filled the Weidner Center to celebrate NEW Scholars.

As a branch of CollegeReady, NEW Scholars prepares students from underrepresented backgrounds for a successful academic future.

“Through academic support, college prep, parent workshops, service learning and much more, NEW Scholars breaks down barriers to higher education that exist for many low-income and first-generation students. Some of the program’s pillars of success include reading, writing, leadership and character development, school success, and parent engagement. Participating students earn up to a $5,000 scholarship to the college/university of their choice,” CollegeReady Operations Director Jenny Tice said.
