UW-Green Bay’s Abbey Kleinert wins Platinum MarCom Award

Abbey Kleinert, assistant professor of Art and Design, won a MarCom Award for her work on the event creative for Optum Health’s Life Sciences Leaders Forum.

From the MarCom Awards website: “Optum Life Sciences Leaders Forum is a TED Talk style event featuring experts who discuss ways we can use data and evidence to ask smarter questions, tackle big challenges and work toward finding real solutions that truly improve health care for all.”

How do you make designs about data, evidence, and smart questions? Professor Kleinert’s design work included a participatory typographic lego wall with custom slider box lego kits, interactive QR code banners, wayfinding, and branded event swag. Working on a creative team of four, she creatively applied Optum’s new brand at one of the first events using this new visual identity.

MarCom Awards are given by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals and have around 6,500 global submissions each year. For more information on the Marcom Awards and the Life Sciences Leaders Forum, click here.
