Green Bay men’s basketball announce newest additions
GREEN BAY, Wis. – Thursday afternoon the Green Bay men’s basketball program and head coach Will Ryan announced the newest additions to its roster, Garren Davis and Amari Jedkins.
Davis, a 6-4 guard from Dallas, Texas, is no stranger to Division I basketball. He played two seasons at Loyola Maryland before transferring to Clarendon College for the 2021-22 season. Davis is coming off of a breakout season at Clarendon, averaging 17.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game on 42.6-percent shooting from the floor and 38.1-percent from beyond the arc for the Bulldogs. He joins the program with two years of eligibility remaining.
“We are thrilled to have Garren join our program,” Ryan said. “We will definitely welcome his experience and leadership from his years at Loyola and Clarendon. Garren is an exceptional shooter who has the ability to score in bunches. He competes at a high level on the defensive end as well. We expect him to come in and make a positive and immediate impact. He’s hungry and committed to helping uplift and move Green Bay Basketball forward!”
The second addition for coach Ryan is 6-8 forward Amari Jedkins. Jedkins is from Racine, Wis., and played his prep ball at Racine Case High School. His senior season was one to remember, helping Case to the WIAA Division I State Tournament and averaging 16.9 rebounds, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for the Eagles. Jedkins was also named honorable mention all-state by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association and The Associated Press.
“We are really excited to add another Wisconsin prospect in Amari to our program,” Ryan continued. “The staff and I saw him play a lot last summer and during Racine Case’s memorable final four tournament run this season. We loved his intangibles as well his tremendous upside. He’s long, athletic, and plays with an infectious energy that fans will love. Amari is a versatile, slashing, wing/forward who has an extremely bright future in the Green and White.”
Davis and Jedkins are the second and third official signings by the Phoenix, joining Denmark High School forward Donavan Short.
