Green Bay Campus mourns passing of Rachel Wussow
UW-Green Bay mourns the passing of Rachel Wussow, probably best known for managing the Phoenix Club and the marketing and promotions for the University Union. She started her employment at the University Union as the assistant director of Internal Support in April 2013. She retired in November 2019. In her short time with the University she made many friends and collaborated across departments and units for the betterment of the Phoenix family.
She coordinated annual programming events for students to promote Union services and also started the Commuter Life program. She also oversaw the Master Calendar, and coordinated team-building exercises and staff training for student employees.
Wussow served as the communications coordinator for ACUI (Association of College Unions International) for Region V for a number of years. She also served as the Midwest Region Coordinator for APCA (Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities).
According to the obituary, Rachel passed away on May 27, 2021. A funeral service for her was held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 31, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Burial was in Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Bonduel. Memorials may be given to a university or church of your choice.
