MARINETTE, Wis. – Steeped in holiday spirit, hundreds of theatre-goers enjoyed the sights and sounds of the season at two weekends of sold-out and standing room only performances at the Bayshore Arts Center on the UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus. Both the West Shore Chorale winter concert and Christmas on the Bay production broke attendance records, highlighting the continued support and collaboration between the community and the university.

“I am simply blown away by the community support and interest we are experiencing at the Center. I am full of gratitude,” said Bayshore Arts Center Director, Lauryn Albaugh. “The Center and UW-Green Bay have an opportunity to create immersive, entertaining and relevant programs for people of all ages in the Marinette Community. We are excited to continue the legacy of theatre, music and arts into the new year!”

On Sunday, December 8, West Shore Choral staged their winter concert, “Sure On This Shining Night,” to a standing-room only crowd. While the concert was free to attend, a free-will offering of more than $1,400 was collected at the door to support the West Shore Chorale program. The winter concert was directed by Jane Wells.

The 8th annual Christmas by the Bay production, “A Rockin’ Poppin’ Christmas,” gave the audience a concert-style performance featuring a live band, singers and the First Street Academy of Dance dancers. Record-breaking ticket sales led to three sold-out shows. Christmas by the Bay was directed by Brittany Welch Pilz, in collaboration with First Street Academy of Dance.
