UW-Green Bay Raises $204,900 During Second Annual Giving Day

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 13, 2025

Community, alumni increase donations by 117% over last year

GREEN BAY, Wis.— UW-Green Bay asked, and the local community and proud alumni responded by raising $204,900 during the second annual UW-Green Bay Giving Day. This 117% increase recognizes the impact that education brings to the university’s 16-county footprint, fueling the region’s workforce.

“We were thrilled with the funds raised from Giving Day 2025! It provided opportunities for donors to support UW-Green Bay in many ways,” said Dr. Dawn Crim, vice chancellor for Advancement, Community Engagement, and Inclusivity, and president of the UW-Green Bay Foundation. “High-impact internships, support for The Weidner and Athletics and scholarship options allowed donors to align their passion with UW-Green Bay’s purpose ensuring all students are future-focused and workforce-ready.”

Dollars raised support need-based scholarships for UW-Green Bay undergraduate students, of which 39% come from low-income households. Gifts will strengthen academic programs that support the region’s workforce, such as engineering, education and nursing, and student success initiatives like the Campus Cupboard, which works to alleviate student hunger and basic necessity needs so students can focus on their education and well-being.

Adding to the campaign was a $65,000 donation match from the UW-Green Bay Council of Trustees, a group of distinguished alumni and professionals that help guide the university toward its mission. Support from these business leaders and friends of the university provided the spark that encouraged more donors to support the Phoenix flock this year. More than 1,100 donors participated in the campaign.

While Giving Day is a one-day effort, donations are needed and accepted throughout the year to support university students.
