UW-Green Bay Center for Public Affairs presents training options for campus, public

The Center for Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will offer three separate spring and summer training opportunities for campus and community attendees.

Grant Writing 1: A Skill Building Workshop will be offered from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Green Bay, 2040 Airport Drive. Veteran grant writer Joe Gaunt and UW-Green Bay Associate Professor and CFPA Director Lora Warner will present an informative and enjoyable workshop that will put participants in the know about how to win the grant their organization needs. Attendees are invited to bring current ideas and projects; they will leave with a critiqued draft grant proposal. Cost for the training is $99, including materials, morning refreshments and lunch. UW-Green Bay staff and students, as well as team members of an organization already attending, pay a discounted rate of $89.

GIS Essential Skills will be offered from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center. Participants will learn about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and how to leverage its capabilities for their organization’s benefit. GIS expert and UW-Green Bay Assistant Prof. Rachel Russell will lead this hands-on workshop for public and nonprofit managers. Every attendee will receive a one-year ESRI ArcGIS 10.1 Education Edition Software subscription and a copy of “The GIS 20: Essential Skills” workbook to take home. Cost for the training is $99, including materials, morning refreshments and lunch. UW-Green Bay staff and students, as well as team members of an organization already attending, pay a discounted rate of $89.

How to Build Your Fundraising Program will be offered from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center. Fund development specialist Jennifer Skolaski will present an in-depth workshop that will help attendees learn to execute a successful fundraising plan to support current programs and future goals. Cost for the training is $99, including materials, morning refreshments and lunch. UW-Green Bay staff and students, as well as team members of an organization already attending, pay a discounted rate of $89.
