Together We Rise! Make Your Mark During UW-Green Bay’s Annual Giving Day Event
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 25, 2025
For one day only, Thursday April 3, 2025, you can make a lasting impact!
Green Bay, WI – Everyone has the Power to Rise. And on Thursday, April 3, 2025, alumni, faculty, staff and community leaders have the power to transform the region through UW-Green Bay’s Giving Day. Starting now and for 24 hours on April 3, donors can directly impact the more than 11,000 current students and thousands of future Phoenix.
As a bonus, thanks to the generous support of the UW-Green Bay Council of Trustees, all Giving Day donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $65,000. That means all donations double the impact and help students rise twice as high. Whether it’s $1 or $10,000 – everything counts!
Since its beginning, UW-Green Bay has been the place where education, innovation and community come together to make the region a thriving place for all. A gift given during UW-Green Bay’s Giving Day is no exception – all gifts have the ability to transform the lives of students and the communities in which they live and work.
Maybe it’s the creativity of The Weidner’s slate of performances; maybe it’s the cutting-edge research within the College of Science, Engineering and Technology or the forward-thinking programs in the Cofrin School of Business; maybe it’s the grit and determination of the Green Bay Phoenix Athletics teams. Whatever it is – whatever brilliance is making an impact – now is the time to support UW-Green Bay with a gift.
UW-Green Bay learners have been making their mark for the past 60 years. With 50,000+ graduates who have become nurses, teachers, engineers, business leaders, artists and more, Phoenix make an impression wherever they go. That impact is felt especially by communities in UW-Green Bay’s 16-county footprint, where 74% of graduates live and work after completing their degree.
Take alumnus Jim Filter ’98. As a first-generation college student and military veteran, Filter found a strong sense of community at UW-Green Bay. Today, as the Executive Vice President at Schneider, he’s working to strengthen that same pipeline of success by supporting the university’s new Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program, both in his role at Schneider and as an individual donor. His innovative thinking is helping UW-Green Bay students rise in the region. “UW-Green Bay helped get me where I am today,” said Filter. “It’s really special to feel like you’re giving back.”
Can’t wait? Celebrate and support students now until April 3, 2025, by visiting www.uwgb.edu/giving-day/. With focus areas in each college, The Weidner, Phoenix Athletics, the Fund for Excellence and Need-Based Scholarships, donors can choose which area to impact with a gift.
