UW-Green Bay’s Lawton Gallery to feature faculty works
The Lawton Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will feature a new exhibit with works by four professors Thursday, Feb. 3 to Feb. 24.
The exhibit, “Oddly Wound Up” includes works by four UW-Green Bay professors in the Art discipline in the Arts and Visual Design academic unit.
• Prof. Kristy Deetz, a painter, is showing three series of works, including paintings and sculpted book forms.
• Prof. Sarah Detweiler, who specializes in photography, is showing two video pieces and one audio piece.
• Prof. Alison Gates, who works with textiles and fibers, is showing pieces that explore knitting traditions and global warming.
• Prof. Jennifer Mokren, who specializes in jewelry and metals, is showing a series of rings and broaches.
The opening reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, with a talk by the artists at 5 p.m.
The Lawton Gallery, located inside Theatre Hall on the UW-Green Bay campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
