Courses designed for women on the cusp of management

Green Bay, WI — Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership at UW-Green Bay is on a mission to develop learning opportunities for aspiring women leaders at every stage of their career. Returning this spring, the Institute offers new Emerging Leader courses that will be available 100% online with live online sessions and additional online study. Classes start mid-February and run through June.

The courses have been designed specifically to support women who have demonstrated leadership ability but have no formal management. Sessions are offered ala carte—take one or more to bolster experience and improve promotability. Each session involves engaging discussion, interactive activities and opportunities to reflect and apply learnings to real life scenarios. Sessions include:

  • Leading with Self-Awareness
  • The Power of Collaboration
  • Effective Communication
  • Building Intentional Relationships
  • Influence without Authority

Complete information on the Emerging Leadership courses, including live online session dates and facilitators, can be found on the website. Completion of courses will be a step in the right direction of becoming a confident and effective leader.

The University established the Institute in 2021, recognizing the region’s growing need for a pipeline of women leaders and the distinct challenges they face in the workplace. The Institute is a comprehensive leadership resource committed to providing ongoing, forward-thinking connection, education and inspiration to support women as theyrise. In the last year, the Institute gained significant momentum, hosting dozens of formal and informal educational, inspirational and networking events. In April 2023, the Institute was renamed the Schreiber Foods Institute for Women’s Leadership when the Green Bay-based food company made a significant financial gift, providing long-term sustainability for the Institute and its work to become the go-to resource in Northeast Wisconsin supporting women and their leadership journeys.

A complete listing of other upcoming Institute events, including “Rising Women: Caffeinated Conversations,” and “Women Rising: Stories from Experience,” can be found on the Institute’s website.
