Appreciating Our Veterans

During a ceremony on Veterans Day (Tuesday, Nov. 11), Chancellor David Ward awarded certificates of appreciation to a handful of UW-Green Bay student soldiers who have served in overseas conflicts since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He also recognized other student soldiers who are awaiting deployment orders.

UW-Green Bay has 275 veterans enrolled in classes this semester with many awaiting activation in 2009.

The Veterans Appreciation Reception was a chance to say thanks to veterans for their admirable service to the country, Ward said.
