Green looks good on you: Phoenix best Badgers in Twitter icon battle

UW-Green Bay’s Twitter account staged a temporary coup Thursday (Oct. 20), turning UW-Madison Badger red into Phoenix green after GB won a friendly contest with our neighbors to the south. UW-Green Bay social media guru Todd Sanders told his Madison counterpart that the Phoenix men’s soccer team would beat the Badgers when they faced off Wednesday, Oct. 19 — and the pair agreed that if they did, Madison would have to temporarily replace its Twitter icon with UW-Green Bay’s. The Phoenix won 2-0, and the Badgers had to pay up — for one full hour, 10-11 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 20), it was all Green Bay, all the time. Ever the gracious winner, Sanders captured the scene for posterity. Madison, we’ve gotta say — green looks good on you.
