Attend the Midwest Viking Festival this weekend

All are invited to the annual Midwest Viking Festival at the UW-Green Bay Viking House!  The festival will begin with a talk by Danish artist and author, Thomas Risom, master glass beadmaker, at the Weidner Center’s Fort Howard Hall on Sep. 22 at 7 p.m.

Risom and 60 other Viking artists will demonstrate the crafts and traditions of medieval Scandinavia at the grounds of the Viking House just off the Wood Hall parking lot on Sep. 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Storytelling, games for kids, battle demonstrations, and performances by Nordic folk artist Kari Tauring throughout the day.  And Viking vendors will be selling jewelry, textiles, books, and other great stocking stuffers for all ages.

The event is free and open to the public.
